The Associate Press released a photo of a mortally wounded marine, after the father of said marine requested that the photo not be released to the public.
Are you fucking kidding me? Do the people at AP have no hearts?
They’re reasoning for publishing the photograph is that it presents the “grimness of war”. This poor kid’s [who was only 21, by the way] FAMILY has to see a photo of their son, brother, newphew, grandson, etc. DYING in magazines, papers and online now.
Does the AP think that is how he would have wanted to be remembered?
I honestly don’t think people choose to fight for our country to show everyone “the grimness of war” when they may or may not perish. They do it because they want to fight for the rest of us, for our country, to keep our values alive. Not to be made an example of by the press, which, by the way, they are out there defending.
I’m sorry, but this seriously infuriated me.
Do not apologize. That is ridiculous!
